You will learn how to provide support to, and maintain our site, equipment and wider facilities to the standards required, by working onsite 4 days a week, with classroom based learning 1 day a week.

Together with a pass in Math, English and Science GCSEs, we require you to have a genuine interest in a hands on, practical role and a commitment to the apprenticeship programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Servicing, Maintenance & Testing of Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electronics/Electrical equipment.
  • Service and inspect machinery and equipment (where possible) as required by the management and company. (Training will be provided)
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance Programme (online portal) – keeping abreast of facilities/equipment developments using benchmarking against external companies and specialist press, manage database for preventative maintenance, minimise downtime of equipment, progress reporting of Facilities Task List, implement schedule as outlined on preventative maintenance database.
  • General day to day maintenance of the facility – e.g., carry out/co-ordinate small building works and production equipment repairs, furniture/office moves – these tasks are all allocated through our facilities helpdesk.
  • CAD/Technical Drawing Production for Projects – Training will be provided.
  • Asset Register Management – Ensure all Statutory Examinations/Inspections are carried out in line with legal and OINS requirements, organise schedules, reminders and ensure online asset database is kept up to date.
  • Internal Customer Liaison – build effective working relationships within OINS, act as the first point of contact for Facilities issues, provide solutions and support for unforeseen breakdowns.
  • Operate within budgets set by Manager, obtain best prices for items associated with plant and equipment utilising database which lists preferred suppliers, planning of plant and equipment moves within the factory.
  • Contractor Management – Manage subcontractors, communicate with subcontractors prior to arriving on site, manage them while they are on site, check that they have necessary qualifications, risk assessments, method statements and work permits for each activity.
  • Follow OINS safety standard set out in OINS guidelines.
  • Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably required by the Company.
  • Take personal responsibility for your health and safety and for that of others who may be affected by your actions and behaviour. Comply with the Company's arrangements for health, safety and environmental protection.
