Do you have time served experience or a minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance?
The Vehicle Maintenance Unit, part of the Fleet Services Department, maintains and repairs over 650 vehicles and 1,100 plant equipment, supporting essential council services such as refuse collection, school transport, and road gritting.
The Council's Fleet Includes:
- Small equipment, lawn mowers, tractors, and woodchippers
- Large commercial vehicles including crane lorries, tippers, and refuse trucks
- Specialist equipment including paving machines and road rollers
- Standard vehicles including panel vans and minibuses
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Time served experience or a minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills for interacting with clients and colleagues
- Basic IT skills for diagnostic tools and software
