The Team You’ll Work With
It’s an exciting time at Carta - we’re building the world’s first ERP for private capital. Purpose-built software that transforms workflows and communication between finance leaders in startups, venture capital, private equity and limited partnerships, throughout a private fund lifecycle. It’s also an exciting time for the brand and creative team, as we’re under new leadership with big ambitions to accelerate the business and manifest our challenger brand spirit with smart, cut-through creativity. We’re also a cool place to work, with great people, a collegial culture, and competitive benefits.
The Problems You’ll Solve
At Carta, our employees set out on a mission to build the unified platform for the private market economy. We believe that the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow. As a Senior Copywriter on the Brand Team, you’ll work to:
- Investigate complex subject matter, designed for niche audience subsets — and transform those learnings into exciting storytelling that’s culturally sharp, audience-resonant, and conveys product value clearly.
- Write branded communications that live throughout our marketing funnel, including ads, emails, events collateral, landing pages, video scripts, product marketing materials, in-product education, and more.
- Develop robust messaging toolkits and frameworks that enable internal teams across the business to scale tonally-consistent messaging across campaigns, sales materials, events, social media, and more.
- Collaborate and build relationships with creatives and cross-functional partners across the business in pursuit of work.
- Work with our Product Marketing team and Audience Managers on integrated campaigns and growth initiatives, serving as a key part of the cross-functional content process.
- Prioritise your work and communicate priorities to all stakeholders including senior management.
- Serve as not just a copywriter but a subject matter expert, effectively presenting and communicating your work to stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Take ownership of the copywriting strategy, including shaping, executing, and refining it to deliver compelling content that educates, excites, and cuts through the "sea of sameness" inherent to our industry.
Your work will play a key role in differentiating our brand and elevating how we communicate with our audience.
About You
- You have 7-plus years experience at a creative agency or creative studio client-side, creating cut-through work for known brands (some B2B experience preferred) across media.
- You’re a conceptual, big-idea thinker, a witty headline writer AND a long-form-prose perfectionist.
- You’re unfazed by complexity, endlessly curious, and love to turn highly complicated briefs into effortless, engaging stories.
- You have a portfolio that demonstrates all of the above.
- You’re a proactive “doer” and take the initiative to hunt for the information you need in order to deliver.
- You can passionately and persuasively articulate your ideas to peers and senior executives.
- You’re a natural team player. You listen deeply, participate keenly, and you’re unafraid to speak up.
- You’re passionate about creative, marketing and finding innovative ways for brands to engage.
- You can thrive in a self-starting, small and highly distributed team.
- You want to chase awards, but you want them to drive the business.
- You live in and around London and can work 2-3 days in the office.
- Your ideas are big. Your ego is not.
