Our Prudhoe manufacturing site houses two paper machines, seven converting lines and a recycling plant. Converting lines turn semi-finished goods manufactured by the paper machines into the finished product for onward dispatch to a variety of customers. About the Role
Are you looking for a shift-based permanent opportunity that will help with your work-life balance? We have a vacancy for an Electrical Maintenance Technician working 12-hour shifts following a 4-on/6-off and 4-on/4-off shift pattern. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that breakdowns/stops/efficiency issues on shift are solved effectively and quickly in order to meet business needs across the whole factory including in our papermaking department, deinking plant as well as in our converting, logistics and service functions. This is an ideal opportunity to gather skills across several machine areas with a wide range of electrical equipment.
What You Will Do
- You will be responsible for assisting with preventing re-occurrence of equipment failures through root cause analysis and initiating solutions, providing safety recommendations and solutions to potential electrical hazards.
- You will also support and promote a preventative maintenance culture into our shift teams focusing on continuous improvement and getting involved in projects to increase efficiency in line with site objectives.
- In all areas of work you will put safety first and ensure all work is completed to the necessary company standards.
Who You Are
You will have completed a recognised apprenticeship, have strong electrical skills and have developed diagnostic and analytical skills in a high-volume manufacturing environment. In addition, you must be able to prioritise, and be self-motivated, proactive, reliable and flexible in your approach to work. Your natural work focus will be demonstrated through your commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Ideally qualified to Higher National Certificate level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and have maintenance and fault finding experience on process control, inverter drive systems and Siemens PLCs.
