A vacancy has now arisen for an experienced Maintenance Technician / Plant Operator within the Compound Plant at our Aberdare site. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Compound Plant, this position will be working a 3 shift pattern, as part of a small team to ensure continued production and maintenance operation of plant in a busy environment. A willingness to work flexibly and commitment to work overtime is required.
Qualifications / Experience
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 yearsβ experience working as a maintenance technician in a busy, high volume manufacturing environment. Having served a recognised apprenticeship in a suitable discipline and ideally educated to HNC level. The candidate should have experience in both electrical and mechanical disciplines. Experience working various shift patterns, including continuous shifts, and comfort working independently are essential. The candidate must be computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Windows and an understanding of PLC programming.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining, repairing, and fault-finding on plant and machinery using various maintenance disciplines.
- Contributing to machine efficiency and development programs using existing maintenance methodologies.
- Completing preventative maintenance inspections and implementing action plans to prevent recurring faults.
- Effective management and operation of a PVC compounding facility.
Location β Aberdare. This role is based at our Aberdare site, Harriet Street, Trecynon, Aberdare, South Wales, CF44 0TD. Free parking is available.
