The Head of Patient Operations will oversee and develop all services under your remit, ensuring seamless and consistent delivery across all aspects of Patient Services.
Job Description
This role is pivotal in setting and maintaining the highest standards, delivering a high-quality and consistent service that meets the needs of both the Client (NHS Royal Derby Hospital) and the Consumer (Patients, 500+ Staff, and Visitors).

Key Responsibilities
- Be committed to managing and providing direction, guidance and support regarding the provision of Cleaning, Catering and other associated services ensuring that employees are able to carry out their roles efficiently, effectively and safely
- Responsible for Day to Day oversight of the Patient Services Managers reporting to the Head of Patient Services
- Accountable for Food Safety, Menu management, and Allergen and Hydration for all Patient Catering Services
- Accountable for National Cleaning Standards, BICs and ensure full compliance of Cleaning Service
- Demonstrate an understanding of the issues and opportunities facing the Contract
- Ensure the effective delivery of the cleaning, linen, and all hygiene standards in accordance with the Trust’s and Company Infection Control policies
- Responsible for ensuring that high levels of work and hygiene standards are adopted throughout the Hospital, maintaining hygiene rules and regulations and standards of dress and behaviour of staff
- Establish and maintain clear standards ensuring the image of the services reflects the professional image of the company at all times
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Preferably holding HND/Degree in Hospitality
- Management/Business Studies or other relevant qualification
- NVQ Level 1 in Customer Services is desirable
- Basic Food Hygiene
- Food Hygiene Qualification – Level 4
- Good general education
- Experience working in a managerial role within a multi site/service role
- Demonstrates track record in managing cleaning an/or catering services in a healthcare environment
- Extensive experience in managing management grade level
- Demonstrates management of teams from diverse backgrounds and skills sets
- Extensive understanding of the National Cleaning Standards
- Ideally comprehensive PFI experience
- Creative and effective reaction to operational issues
- Experience at interfacing at all levels throughout an organisation, gaining and maintaining credibility with all people
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
