We are seeking an experienced Deepwater Drilling Manager with a background working with drilling contractors and operators. The role involves overseeing drilling engineering and operations, ensuring safety, adherence to schedules and budgets, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. This multi-year role is based in Aberdeen, UK, with travel to India during planning and operational phases. Drilling activities will occur in India, with eventual relocation to India.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing drilling operations: Oversee activities, ensure safety and compliance, and improve performance.
- Contractor liaison: Serve as primary contact, review plans, and ensure contractual compliance.
- HSE compliance: Lead safety initiatives, audits, and risk assessments.
- Performance reporting: Provide updates to management and stakeholders.
- Budget management: Control costs and optimize resources.
- Team leadership: Guide and develop the drilling team.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with geology, engineering, logistics, procurement, and other departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering; Master's preferred.
- Minimum 20 years in drilling, with 10+ in management, especially in deepwater projects.
- Certifications in safety and drilling operations (IWCF, Well Control, Offshore Safety).
