We are looking for an experienced, professional and friendly Dental Practice Manager to join our practice team. Good remuneration rates and working conditions are on offer and the salary is negotiable depending on experience.
Sandown Dental Practice is a well-established private practice located in the heart of Sandown, Isle of Wight. The practice is well regarded for its high standards and excellent patient care, offering both general and cosmetic dentistry for private patients as well as special interest implants & smile makeovers. We are committed to being an approachable and friendly practice whilst at the same time providing the highest standards of dentistry.
The Practice Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient and compliant running of the Practice as a whole. The Practice Manager should manage all operational aspects within a specified Practice to achieve excellent service to patients, quality of service, cost and delivery of performance in line with Company strategy and targets. The Practice Manager should also provide support and direction to enhance performance, skills and knowledge of Practice staff within the Practice that they are responsible for.
PEOPLE- Manage staff according to current Company policies and procedures
- Responsible for recruitment and selection of Practice staff (with support from the Area Manager)
- Induction of Practice staff and dentists
- Staff development & Training (Nurse & Reception)
- Staff performance management (Nurse & Reception)
- Goal Setting and individual performance appraisals
- Managing absence & sickness of staff & dentists (reporting absences and working with Area Manager to reduce absences)
- Communication of Company messages within the Practice
- Managing staff grievances and disciplinary hearings in line with Company procedures
- Health & Safety compliance
- Encouraging effective teamwork and best practice in the Practice
- Ensure Practice cleanliness and clinical compliance
- Actively manage patient complaints
- Manage appointment diary
- Manage telephone answering within set guidelines
- Obtain & review patient feedback via patient survey as per procedure
- Proactively sell consumables in the Practice
- Practice Meeting (as necessary minimum monthly) with all Practice personnel, including dentists
- Action monthly/weekly business reports
- Effectively balance people, operational and activity requirements
- Ensure that enhanced CRB's are applied for within 5 days of start date for the purpose of becoming registered Practice Manager as soon as possible
- Manage appointment book and Practice recall system
- Manage Practice correspondence and administration
- Ensure all equipment is validated, effectively maintained to meet manufacturers and Company guidance and meet HTMO1-05 compliance.
- Manage reactive repairs
- Facilitate ordering of new equipment as necessary
- Action bad debt procedures
- As registered manager, be responsible for processing own complaints in line with CQC regulations
- Advise Area Manager of dentist missed sessions due to sickness
- Stock management
- Effective IT system management
- Effective communication with all key business stakeholders
- Ensure cash handling and banking procedures are always carried out according to Company procedures
- Ensure staff and dentists operate within all Company policy and procedures
- Carry out audits as per Company policy
- Action dentist pay queries without delay
