About the Opportunity
Leader Recruitment Group is proud to collaborate with an established provider to recruit a dedicated Senior Support Worker for a new children's residential home in Stevenage. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team and play a key role in delivering exceptional care to young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in a brand-new service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to young people, promoting their emotional, social, and physical well-being.
- Support the Home Manager and Deputy Manager in daily operations, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and safeguarding policies.
- Supervise and mentor junior support workers, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans.
- Manage challenging behaviours using a trauma-informed approach.
- Maintain accurate records and support with administrative tasks as required.
- Build trusting relationships with young people, families, and external professionals.
About You
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a children's residential care setting, ideally with EBD experience.
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent, or willingness to work towards).
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and care standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach.
- Ability to lead shifts and support a team effectively.
- Experience in a senior or supervisory role within a children's home.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices.
