My client is a leading high-tech defence organisation. I’m helping in the search for a Lead Systems Integration Engineer. You’ll be a hands-on, technically minded professional who thrives on solving real-world problems and working directly with customers in mission-critical environments. You’ll support the Integration Manager in delivering robust, integrated software solutions that meet demanding customer and business requirements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Be the go-to technical lead for hands-on system integration tasks, confidently resolving complex issues independently or in coordination with SMEs and specialist teams.
  • Develop and maintain integration plans, procedures, and architectures tailored to project needs.
  • Set up, execute, and lead system testing, validation, and trials to confirm successful integration.
  • Manage technical system installations at customer sites, from smooth, planned installs to troubleshooting and issue resolution on the fly.
  • Ensure integration environments, facilities, and equipment are maintained in accordance with business and statutory regulations.
  • Provide timely updates and technical reporting to project stakeholders and leadership teams.

What You’ll Bring

  • Solid experience in systems integration, ideally within defence, aerospace, or other complex/regulated industries.
  • Hands-on problem-solving approach with the ability to take ownership of technical challenges.
  • Experience developing system architecture and integration strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work cross-functionally with engineers, project teams, and end-users.
  • Knowledge of secure or classified environments highly desirable.
  • Due to the nature of the work and the need to secure material, this role is restricted to Sole British Nationals. Candidates must either hold or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance.
