Your new company is a community focused housing association based in Edinburgh, dedicated to providing quality homes and building strong, inclusive communities. With a commitment to making a real difference, they are looking for a versatile and creative Communications Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your new role is a hands-on, varied role for a communications generalist. You will support both internal and external communications, helping to engage staff, residents and stakeholders through a range of channels and content types.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging internal communications to keep colleagues informed and connected.
  • Create and manage external communications, including press releases, newsletters, and community updates.
  • Support event planning and delivery - from tenant engagement sessions to staff briefings.
  • Design and produce digital content, including graphics and short videos, for web and social media.
  • Maintain and update website and intranet content.
  • Monitor communications performance and contribute to continuous improvement.
What you will need to succeed:

You will be a confident communicator with excellent writing skills and a keen eye for design. You are organised, creative, and comfortable juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience in a communications role (in-house or agency).
  • Strong copywriting and editing abilities.
  • Experience creating visual and video content (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite or similar tools).
  • Familiarity with managing social media channels and websites (e.g., WordPress).
  • Able to work collaboratively and independently.
  • An understanding of the social housing or public sector environment is desirable but not essential.

  • Hourly rate of £17-19 per hour paid to you weekly through Morgan Hunt payroll.
  • Hybrid working (1-3 days in the office).
