We believe the world’s fastest driver hasn’t raced…yet. FAT Karting League’s mission is to achieve mass participation in motorsport by radically reducing the barriers to entry. We run karting events across the country throughout the year to cater for drivers with different levels of experience, creating a pathway from age 6-17. We are looking for enthusiastic and hard-working people — with a passion for motorsport — to join our weekend staff crew for 2025 and beyond. The roles we need to fill will involve working Friday to Sunday and potentially travelling to different karting circuits around the UK.
- Event Manager: We are looking for somebody with event organisation and management skills with experience at motorsport events, to assist at our events.
- Customer Experience Lead: We are looking for someone with lots of energy, enthusiasm, who is friendly, charming, and has great customer service skills. Ideally, they will have a real love of motorsport. They will need to be good listeners, empathetic, and work calmly under pressure. They will need to be great communicators with both the customers as well as the other members of the race team.
- Mechanics (skilled and unskilled): We are looking for a number of skilled and unskilled mechanics roles with various levels of experience to join our team to assist in the preparation and maintenance of karts. Skilled mechanics should have experience in either race cars, motorbikes, or karts. For these positions, we have full and part-time roles.
- Pit Lane Manager: We are looking for skilled mechanics who have experience with either race cars, motorbikes, or karts and who have the confidence to be a team leader. They will need to be good with people, have excellent organisation skills, and work well under pressure. Experience in motorsport is desirable but not essential. This role might suit someone who has previous experience working with children.
- Race Director / Clerk: We are looking for experienced individuals with a relevant Motorsport UK licence to be responsible for our judicial processing and implementation of sporting regulations.
- Marshals: We are looking for Motorsport UK registered marshals to assist with on-track incidents, recovering karts, and warning drivers via flags or marshal lights. An understanding of motorsport rules is important for this role. Recovery marshals will need to have the physical ability to quickly reach and move a kart that has left the track.
- Timekeeper: We are looking for an experienced motorsport timekeeper, preferably with experience of Alpha Timing.
- Driver Coaches: We are looking for people with a passion and understanding of motorsport who feel they could work as driver coaches to pass that knowledge on. These people will need to have good communication skills and be comfortable communicating with and working with children.
