Sysco GB are currently recruiting for an Early Careers Coordinator to join the HR team on a 12 month maternity cover basis. The Early Careers Coordinator role is crucial to supporting Sysco GB’s Early Careers strategy by ensuring the effective delivery and continuous improvement of our early careers and apprenticeship programmes. By managing the day-to-day operations of these initiatives, and acting as first point of contact, the role helps build a strong pipeline of future talent, supports internal colleague development, and ensures compliance with apprenticeship funding requirements & legislation. This operational support means a strong learner experience, quick resolution of issues, and clear management of our external providers.

As we evolve our new early careers strategy, this role will also play a key part in designing and implementing new initiatives —such as school outreach, work experience, and graduate development programmes. The role’s emphasis on data tracking and analysis will ensure we can measure impact, identify trends, and make informed decisions that enhance programme effectiveness and return on investment. This work also links into our L&D, social responsibility and sustainability teams to drive our social mobility goals. Ultimately, this position supports our ambition to be an employer of choice for early talent and to future-proof our workforce in a competitive market. This is a home-based role with occasional travel required.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as main point of contact for Early Careers enquiries
  • Manage the enrolment and onboarding process for new apprenticeship programme starts, utilising the digital apprenticeship service effectively
  • Support and monitor current apprenticeship learners, resolving issues and working towards successful programme completion
  • Build strong relationships with training providers and monitor performance
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders where apprenticeships are integrated into development programmes
  • Plan and deliver key events such as National Apprenticeship Week
  • Support business & HR teams with planning and recruitment of new hire apprentice and graduate intakes (including outreach activities)
  • Input to design, development and implementation of projects as a result of new Early Careers strategy rollout (e.g. school outreach framework, accessibility of internal apprenticeships, work experience, graduate development programme, resourcing model etc)
  • Create and maintain clear data dashboards
  • Assist with wider Talent Development learning interventions

You:

We are seeking a motivated individual with experience or transferable knowledge of apprenticeships, early careers, and work experience programmes. The ideal candidate will be a confident and clear communicator, skilled at building strong relationships and engaging effectively with people at all levels. You should be highly organised, with excellent administrative skills and a keen eye for detail. A curious and proactive mindset is essential, with the ability to challenge processes and recommend improvements. You’ll thrive as part of a busy, high-energy team, balancing multiple priorities from day-to-day tasks to contributing to larger projects. Strong data collation and analysis skills are required to provide meaningful reporting. Proficiency in MS Office, including Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential.
