An established and well-regarded MEP contractor, founded in the mid-1980s, is seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join their growing team. Known for their high standards of delivery and longstanding client relationships, the company operates across various sectors including airports, department stores, retail, luxury residential, commercial offices, F&B, and leisure.

Offering a full turnkey service from concept and design through to supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, the company maintains a strong reputation for reliability and repeat business—boasting a 95% client retention rate.

As Electrical Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of electrical projects from tendering through to completion. You will oversee multiple projects across the UK, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards. This is a key role within the company, and we’re looking for someone with proven experience managing the full tender process and electrical installation projects in the building services sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple electrical contracts from inception to completion
  • Lead the tendering process: reviewing specifications, pricing, and submitting competitive tenders
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met
  • Coordinate with internal teams (design, procurement, installation, and commissioning)
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, regulations, and accreditations (e.g., NICEIC)
  • Conduct site visits across the UK, monitor progress, and resolve any technical or contractual issues
  • Oversee financial aspects including valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Provide technical support and guidance to site teams and engineers
  • Maintain and build relationships with new and existing clients
  • Deliver projects in line with quality, safety, and environmental guidelines

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar Electrical Contracts Manager role
  • Strong understanding of the full tender and project delivery process
  • Electrical qualifications and up-to-date knowledge of current regulations
  • Experience within MEP or building services environments
  • Ability to manage multiple UK-wide projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Full UK driving licence (required due to national travel)

Desirable

  • NICEIC accreditation or experience working under NICEIC-approved businesses
  • Familiarity with compliance procedures such as distribution board testing, RCD testing, PAT testing, and emergency lighting
  • Experience working in secure environments such as airports is an advantage
