Engineering @365 is working with a leading specialist joinery company that offers end-to-end design, manufacturing and installation services. They deliver high-quality joinery and specialist finishes across multiple sectors and are now looking to recruit a Draughtsman to join the team at their Leicestershire facility.
About the role:
As a Draughtsman, you’ll work in a modern Leicestershire based facility within a family-run company known for its rich history and commitment to quality. This hands-on role involves designing bespoke interior joinery projects and collaborating closely with the design team to deliver high-quality solutions for a diverse range of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and create 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD.
- Produce accurate, detailed workshop drawings for bespoke joinery projects.
- Translate architectural and design intent drawings into technical shop drawings for manufacturing.
- Coordinate with project managers, designers, and workshop teams to ensure buildability and material suitability.
- Maintain drawing documentation and generate CNC geometries for nesting.
- Attend site meetings and surveys as needed to support project delivery.
- Liaise with clients to ensure designs and drawings meet their requirements.
- Communicate regularly with the shop floor throughout the production process.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the design team.
What we’re looking for:
- Prior experience as a joinery draughtsman.
- 3D design experience, 2D experience would also be beneficial.
- Experience working with wood and/or specialist joinery.
- Ideally comes from a bench hand joiner background though not essential.
