We are seeking a skilled Power Electronics Design Engineer with extensive experience of Power Electronics to join our project team. As a Power Electronics Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electronic systems and components. Your expertise in electrical and electronic engineering and knowledge of power topologies will be crucial in ensuring the successful implementation of projects.

Duties:

  • Design and develop electronic systems and components based on project requirements
  • Support staff engineers (including Junior Engineers) with essential PCB Design and Layouts and also Testing of developed products using a High Voltage Test rig
  • The design process is already mature so this will largely be focused on a final few components and knitting together the final designs, with extensive testing and design modification work
  • You will perform system design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection
  • You will conduct testing and troubleshooting of electronic systems to ensure functionality and performance

Skills:

  • BEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in surface mount technology (SMT) assembly techniques
  • Strong knowledge of Altium or a similar CAD package for schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Experience with logic controllers and system design
  • Proficient in programming languages and embedded code such as Python, C++, Embedded C would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with High Voltage (up to 4000V DC) Test Equipment would be advantageous
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis
