About The Role

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We're looking to recruit a Section Engineer to join our Manufacturing plant based just outside Derby in Ilkeston.

The Manufacturing Section Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing various engineering and construction activities in a precast factory. This role involves ensuring the management of subcontractors, maintaining safety standards, and collaborating with different teams to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subcontractor Management: Under direct guidance and following specific procedures, carries out a range of inspections, observations related to specific projects, and site evaluations. Assesses data and presents findings through reports. Operates using drawings, technical specifications, and diagrams. Employs methods to monitor on-site activities and execute tasks. Conducts in-depth observations and provides analysis of outcomes. Keeps meticulous records and data from test and inspection outcomes.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure all subcontractors follow safety guidelines. Report any accidents or incidents promptly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with production and quality control team of the subcontractor. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment. Communicates effectively with client, designers and project team.

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and materials.
  • Proficiency in project pack office software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • You must hold a valid UK Driving license.
