We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team on specialist ductwork and ventilation projects across London. The successful candidate will oversee all cost-related aspects of mechanical (HVAC) works from tender through to final account, ensuring value delivery, commercial control, and compliance with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, manage, and review cost estimates and tender submissions for ductwork packages.
- Conduct material take-offs and ensure accurate measurement of ductwork components.
- Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier contracts.
- Monitor project variations, valuations, and interim payments.
- Maintain tight control over cost reporting, cash flow forecasting, and budget compliance.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and validate claims.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure timely delivery of commercial outputs.
- Manage final accounts and ensure project closeout aligns with contractual and financial targets.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within MEP/HVAC, ideally with a focus on ductwork or ventilation.
- Strong knowledge of building services installation processes.
- Familiarity with construction contracts (JCT/NEC preferred).
- Excellent numerical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, project costing tools, and industry measurement standards (e.g., SMM/CESMM).
