Housing Support Worker

Overview

BDS have a fantastic opportunity for a housing support worker in Exeter and surrounding area.

• Hours per Week: 37
• Expected Length of Contract: 9-10 months with potential to extend or become permanent
• Salary Details: £13.71 per hour paye plus hol pay or £17.75 per hour umbrella

BDS Recruitment are looking for a Support Worker to work with veterans and others who have been homeless or facing homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Provide a holistic and positive approach to solution-focused support.
• Work with around 5 to 8 customers at any one time to maintain high-quality service.
• Be part of a larger team who support people with complex needs in the Honiton area.
• Collaborate with other agencies around specific needs including mental health, substance misuse, benefits, private letting agents and landlords, and/or others.
• Explore options around education, training and employment.
• Write, review and update support plans and risk assessments.
• Adopt a positive approach towards risk management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience in a similar role would be desirable.
• Passion for helping people in the local community is important.
• A current enhanced DBS check will be required.
