This is a specialist school for children and young people between the ages of 4 – 19 with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning difficulties. The school has residential provisions. We are looking for candidates who can assist with students’ daily needs and who are ideally experienced with Personal Care. Candidates must be trained in Moving & Handling Practical (not online).

  • Physically fit to move and handle disabled young people
  • Worked within a school with SEN students
  • GCSE in English and Maths A to C
  • Experience in care
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • Makaton trained
  • Experience with Autism
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

We have the below shifts available:

  • 08:30am – 15:30pm to assist students with their learning based in the classroom and to assist with care needs.
  • 07:00 – 14:30 to assist with the β€˜get-up’ routine before the school day begins. The worker will then support the students within the classroom.
  • 12:30 – 21:30 to assist with lunchtime duties, join the classroom and support in the home living area after the school day has finished. Friday shifts will be 08:30 – 14:00 as the students leave for the weekend at 14:00.

Please note that the school is not accessible via public transport, and it would be essential for the candidate to drive or be driven.
