Your Future Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading Services Engineering activities for the Class 701 Project. This role will be part of a high-performing technical team, in which you will manage configuration and design changes, optimise maintenance strategies, and drive continuous improvements in fleet performance. This safety-critical role requires a proactive approach to fault resolution, risk mitigation, and system optimisation.

We’ll Look to You For:

  • Managing Configuration and Design Change, ensuring smooth implementation and compliance.
  • Optimising maintenance tasks to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Providing technical support for in-service fault resolution and performance improvements.
  • Defining and implementing modifications to enhance reliability and serviceability.
  • Overseeing technical documentation updates, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Supporting Product Safety Management, ensuring timely risk mitigation.
  • Managing an Obsolescence Plan, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Interfacing with certification stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Developing work instructions and maintenance processes based on manuals and plans.
  • Monitoring train performance, analysing data, and proposing improvement actions.
  • Managing technical documentation and interfaces within MMIS (Maintenance Management Information System) systems.
  • Driving fleet reliability improvement plans, tracking KPIs, and implementing corrective measures.
  • Developing and maintaining Life Cycle Cost (LCC) models, including risk and savings analysis.
  • Conducting failure criticality studies, utilising Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies to refine maintenance approaches.
  • Calculating material, parts, and time consumption for maintenance efficiency.
  • Supporting root cause analysis using industry-standard methodologies such as FRACAS, 8D, and PPS.
  • Leading engineering support for safety-related incidents, working closely with design authorities and OEMs.
  • Sharing global best practices, identifying opportunities for standardisation and improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations in daily operations.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • University degree or equivalent in Railway Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in Railway System/Application Engineering.
  • Knowledge of rolling stock equipment and maintenance strategies.
  • Experience in rolling stock maintenance and reliability analysis.
  • Understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment frameworks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and BI/BO.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot faults using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong team player, with the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
