We’re at Work Lyf group are recruiting on behalf of a global leader in process plant engineering across the food, beverage, personal care, and homecare industries. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical (EC&I) Engineer to take ownership of projects from design to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specification of electrical control panels, instrumentation, and electrical systems
- Collaborate with the Process team and suppliers on instrumentation selection
- Provide technical input and cost estimates to support sales proposals
- Manage control panel manufacturing and support factory testing
- Develop Load/Motor, I/O, and Instrument schedules based on P&IDs and equipment datasheets
- Produce electrical loop diagrams, cable routing plans, and panel layouts
- Approve schematic and layout drawings; integrate connection data into electrical documentation
- Configure and commission instrumentation, VSDs, and support I/O testing
- Support installation, power-up, commissioning, and site issue resolution
- Prepare comprehensive commissioning files and finalize documentation
Technical Expertise Required
- Hands-on experience with Siemens/Rockwell platforms, Profibus DP/PA, Profinet, AS-i, IO-Link, and HART
- Strong understanding of ATEX and hazardous area regulations
- Instrumentation knowledge (flow, pressure, temperature, level, weight, analytical)
- Familiarity with Endress & Hauser, IFM, Siemens, and Mettler Toledo instruments
- Sound grasp of safety systems, including E-Stops and interlocks
Qualifications & Experience
- HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- 7+ years in EC&I engineering within process industries
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Experienced in control panel design, testing, and documentation
- Understanding of UK regulations and hazardous area requirements
Soft Skills & Other Requirements
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative
- Strong planning, communication, and organizational skills
- Full UK driving licence
