ARE YOU A MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER WITH EXPERIENCE IN A HIGH PRECISION INDUSTRY? DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE OF PROTOTYPING AND HANDS ON PROJECT WORK?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward thinking and innovative company who operate within the materials testing arena. They have exciting growth and investment plans, working along some exciting global manufacturers and research institutes to constantly develop within their fields.

The role would ultimately suit mechanical design or project engineers with experience of prototyping or the development of equipment, components or machinery in a manufacturing/test setting. Applicants from a high precision background will have a considerable advantage. SolidWorks design background is preferrable but transferrable skills will also be considered.

This is a hands on role, where your time will be split between software based design and projects work. You will have involvement throughout the product lifecycle where you will see designs through from initial conception through to completion. You will work to develop bespoke testing machinery to very specific customer specification.

You will benefit from joining a small, niche business where no two days are the same. You will work alongside an expert team of individuals within an exciting phase of development within the business. The company have identified gaps within markets and are at the forefront of technology and innovation.

  • Design of bespoke machinery, components and parts - SolidWorks
  • Liaising with customers and understanding requirements
  • Liaising with suppliers for ordering of parts
  • Mechanical assembly and testing
  • Managing timings against project delivery
  • Report writing

Will ideally transfer from a high precision manufacturing or testing background

Strong mechanical design and prototyping background
