Dryliners – Reading

UKR Group is looking for 4x experienced Dryliners to start ASAP in a job in Reading, Berkshire . Responsibilities: Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications to determine the layout and type of drylining work required. Measuring and marking layout points on walls and ceilings using appropriate measuring tools and spirit levels. Cutting plasterboard sheets to size using hand tools or power tools, ensuring clean and accurate edges. Fixing plasterboard sheets to frameworks using screws, nails, adhesives, or mechanical fixings, ensuring they are properly aligned and securely fitted. Constructing wall partitions and suspended ceiling systems, including both metal and timber stud frameworks. Installing insulation materials behind walls and ceilings to achieve specified thermal and acoustic performance. Creating and fitting specialist finishes, including curved walls, bulkheads, ceiling rafts, and decorative features. Installing pre-formed plasterboard components such as access panels, reveals, and corner beads. Taping and jointing plasterboard seams, applying jointing compound, and sanding to achieve a smooth finish, ready for decoration. Inspecting completed work to ensure correct alignment, high-quality finish, and compliance with building regulations. Undertaking patch repairs or replacing damaged plasterboard in existing installations as required. Finishing corners and edges with appropriate metal or plastic trims for protection and a neat appearance. Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition and ensuring they are used safely and effectively. Adhering to on-site health and safety regulations and wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Identifying and mitigating potential hazards on-site, and promptly reporting any unsafe conditions. Handling and disposing of waste materials responsibly, including offcuts and packaging. Carrying out work in accordance with fireproofing, soundproofing, and insulation standards, particularly in residential and commercial environments. Skills: Skills related to Drylining, including knowledge of materials, installation techniques, and the use of hand and power tools. Candidates should be able to lift heavy objects and perform tasks that require standing, bending, and reaching.
