Professional Support Lawyer - Private Client

Mills & Reeve have an opportunity for a Knowledge Lawyer to support the Private Client team in any of our regional offices. For more information, please read below. The role We are seeking a solicitor or professionally qualified person to work with our existing Senior Knowledge Lawyer to provide support to colleagues working in our national Private Client team (“PC”). Key elements of the KL role include; Continuous Improvement, Training, Research & Review, and National Profile, which need to be allocated and managed appropriately within the PC Knowledge Team. The person Given the responsibilities of this role, your background will likely demonstrate: Experience working as a Qualified Solicitor or equivalent – at least four years PQE within the Private Client space Good drafting and written skills Outstanding IT skills in knowledge management and information dissemination Knowledge and experience of private client law and practice, and the private wealth sector. Experience in areas like contentious private client, international, charities, landed estate work, or advising business owners is advantageous Enthusiastic, committed, and professional approach to improving legal knowledge and skills of fee-earners and enhancing team cohesion Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate at all levels, and role model the firm\’s values A desire to develop the private client practice, with an interest in innovation and technology in legal services The activities Effective Working Supporting continuous improvement to promote financial performance, client satisfaction, and sound commercial principles within the PC team. Developing shared approaches to advice, implementation, and file management Involvement in Pricing & Productivity initiatives, including financial management and time monitoring Engagement in innovation initiatives, including AI and data management Training Ensuring colleagues access targeted, high-quality training to develop technical, commercial, and client management skills. The PC Knowledge Team will: Design and maintain training programmes for 2024-2026 Deliver or facilitate training sessions Coordinate with the firm\’s Learning & Development team Manage training budgets and external resources Resource Management Ensuring PC colleagues have the necessary resources by: Researching legal developments and sharing insights Capturing and sharing best practices and know-how Discussing technical and drafting issues with fee-earners Maintaining precedents and resources, managing external tools Implementing and cleansing knowledge management systems National Profile Supporting the firm\’s reputation in the private wealth sector through: Content creation for press, blogs, social media, and newsletters Generating client updates Managing PC team pages on the firm’s website We may close this vacancy early if enough applications are received.
