The role:
CIL are rapidly expanding! We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientated individual to join the dynamic and growing Clean Room team. The primary purpose of the Clean Room Technician is to operate, maintain and monitor Clean Room manufacturing equipment, contributing to the overall success of our production process.
The successful person will demonstrate a keen eye for detail, excellent team-work and the ability to handle various tools and equipment in our modern and newly developed ISO 7 standard Clean Room. Whilst previous Clean Room experience is very beneficial, we are keen to hear from people who have similar experience within a manufacturing environment and transferable skills which can add value to our business.
Primary duties & responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Set-up, operate and safely shut down items of clean room manufacturing equipment.
- Production Assembly: Assemble die bonded and wire bonded microelectronic assemblies to customer and/or CIL specifications and drawings, always ensuring the safe handling and storage of work in progress to prevent electrostatic and mechanical damage.
- Process Monitoring: Monitor and measure product quality to continually ensure manufacturing equipment is working within defined limits and producing assemblies to an expected level of quality.
- Recording: Maintain accurate, clear and retrievable records of monitored production processes in order to demonstrate manufacturing is carried out in accordance with both internal and external quality systems.
- Communication: Identify issues with process, product quality, user safety and take appropriate action to correct deviations; either by correcting the process, OR to stop production and communicate issues in a timely manner to Engineering and/or Management.
- Maintenance: Ensure key equipment remains operational by working with the maintenance teams to ensure routine Daily, Weekly, Monthly maintenance tasks are met and recorded in accordance with both internal and external quality systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Work with Microelectronics engineers to help develop manufacturing production processes and workflow to ensure best possible quality and reduce waste.
- Stock management: Check kits for completeness before releasing for production build. Inspection of customer owned parts. Chase up and advise on shortages. Check and control stock of packing material, consumables. Perform Customer stock check of their parts/material as required/requested.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience in a manufacturing/production environment, ideally within Electronics, Medical/Laboratory, Scientific or similar industry.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team & follow instructions.
- Clean Room experience is preferred.
- Previous use of hand tools, microscopes or machinery would be advantageous.
- Experience working in Electronics or an industry qualification is beneficial.
