We help everyday runners become outstanding by providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you’re improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon. To date we have built iOS, Android and Apple watch apps that help people achieve their goals by coaching them through the full journey and syncing to their favourite fitness devices. We’re growing extremely fast! In November 2023 we closed a $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. In 2024, we were selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the 2024 iPhone App of the Year, reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built. Now in 2025 we have just been acquired by Strava! We want to grow as fast as we can into the future and are looking for individuals who will help us get there. Our aim is to reach millions of subscribers and be the go-to training platform for any runner. Now is a magical time to join and with our recent acquisition it makes the journey even more exciting!

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone full of creative energy and a sharp eye for design to join Runna’s Growth team. You’ll work closely with our Creative Manager and Performance Marketing Lead to create scroll-stopping content specifically for our paid ads — not organic posts. From concept to execution, this is your chance to design standout visuals across multiple platforms to reach the next wave of Runnas. We’re producing hundreds of ads each month to grow at pace, so you’ll have huge creative scope! From testing new ideas to diversifying our content mix and helping shape Runna’s brand identity as we scale globally. You’ll be part of a fast-moving, test-and-learn culture where ideas are encouraged, feedback is quick, and every project is a chance to learn and grow. As one of the early members of the team, you’ll have real autonomy to experiment, iterate, and make a meaningful impact on one of the world’s leading running apps.

As a Junior Graphic Designer, your role will include:

  • Graphic Design – Designing eye-catching, best-in-class, graphics for social media ads (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Google etc.), emails, and in-app community content.
  • Concept Ideation – Contributing fresh, bold concepts in brainstorms to help shape our next top-performing ads.
  • Collaboration - Working with internal teams and external agencies to ensure consistency and high standards across everything we put out.
  • Creative Optimisation - Using performance metrics to inform, iterate and improve creatives.
  • Creative Research - Staying on top of design and industry trends to innovate faster.
  • Getting stuck into the fun - (and sometimes random) bits that come with startup life!

What experience we’re looking for

Your key skills:

  • Proven proficiency for graphic design within Figma, Photoshop or similar.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating ability to follow brand/campaign guidelines.
  • A good understanding of design principles, colour theory, typography, layout composition.
  • Proven track record of creating super cool, social-first content.
  • An ability to think outside the box with innovative campaigns and fresh new ideas.
  • Strategic thinking with strong verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Passionate about self-development; being connected and up-to-date with trends and movements both in and out of the industry to inspire digital look and feel of the brand.
  • Enthusiasm for running and inspiring more people to be active.

Your experience:

  • 1.5+ years within a graphic design/content creation role OR bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent (bonus points if you have both!).
  • Experience in paid advertising is a bonus but not required.

Interview process

Our aim is to keep the interview process as straightforward and enjoyable as possible. Once you’ve applied and submitted your portfolio, the process will consist of the following stages:

  • Intro Chat with Josh, Talent Associate (25 min video call).
  • Take Home Task & Interview (50 min video call with Calum, Creative Manager and Laura, Performance Marketing Lead).
  • Office visit - interview & meet the team (in-person chance to meet the team and 40 minutes interview with Miranda, Head of Growth and Dom, CEO).

Once the process is finished, we promise to let you know our decision as soon as possible. Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to better accommodate you throughout the interview process - this can be from scheduling interviews around childcare commitments to accessibility requirements. We want you to show your best self in the process.

Benefits and options

We offer a salary of £30k-£40k (depending on experience), plus equity in the form of Strava shares. We’re also committed to continually evolving our benefits to support you as we grow. Here is a brief overview of what we currently offer:
