A leading main contractor is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join their team on a high-profile data centre development in Slough. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a technically complex project with a well-established contractor known for delivering excellence across large-scale schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor site-specific health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with current legislation and company standards
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings to site personnel and subcontractors
- Assist with accident/incident investigations and ensure follow-up actions are completed
- Maintain accurate records including risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safety documentation
- Liaise with the site team and project stakeholders to promote a proactive health and safety culture
Requirements:
- Relevant Health and Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent)
- 2+ years' experience in a similar role within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience on large-scale or mission-critical projects (e.g. data centres, pharma, etc.) is an advantage
