HGV2 Drivers & 7.5 Tonne Drivers Wanted – Houghton Le Spring

We are currently recruiting HGV2 Drivers and 7.5 Tonne Drivers for a long-term, ongoing opportunity based in Houghton Le Spring, working on behalf of Sunderland, Gateshead or South Tyneside Councils.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday only – No weekends!
  • Start time: 6:45 AM
  • Finish by 4:15 PM at the latest

Job Role:

  • Driving a tipper vehicle carrying concrete or tarmac
  • Occasionally required to tow a trailer with a mini excavator – towing experience is an advantage, but not essential
  • You must clean out the tipper after each load
  • Jobs are local, and routes are well planned

Requirements:

  • Valid HGV2 or 7.5 Tonne Licence
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph
  • No more than 9 points on your licence (No DR or DD offences)
  • Access to a laptop or PC – all application paperwork will be sent via email and must be completed digitally

Rates of Pay:

  • 7.5 Tonne Drivers: Β£12.75 per hour
  • Overtime (after standard hours): Β£18.75 per hour
  • HGV2 Drivers: Β£14.00 per hour
  • Overtime (after standard hours): Β£21.00 per hour
  • Holiday pay is accrued weekly (not rolled into the hourly rate)
  • Wages paid weekly in arrears
