About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a leading specialist in mechanical and electrical services. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders for electrical projects across a variety of sectors including commercial, residential, and industrial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and competitive electrical cost estimates from tender documents, specifications, and drawings.
  • Analyse and evaluate tender documentation to identify scope, risks, and opportunities.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to obtain pricing and technical information.
  • Develop accurate material take-offs and labor cost assessments.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure alignment of estimating and project delivery.
  • Maintain and update a database of historical costs and supplier rates to support future estimating activities.
  • Attend tender review meetings and provide technical and commercial support as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality standards, and company policies in all estimating activities.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the M&E sector.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Amtech or similar packages is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tenders concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant electrical or construction qualification preferred.
  • CSCS card or equivalent health and safety certification desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence preferable.
