We are looking for a Healthy Communities Manager who is passionate about working in the leisure industry.
The Opportunity
In line with the Bexley Healthy Communities Plans and local strategies, the role of the Healthy Communities Manager will be to enable an active and healthy community through effective partnership working and programme development across Bexley Leisure Centres and local communities. Working closely with central, regional and site teams as well as key stakeholders, this role will ensure the Healthy Communities service contributes to national and local outcomes, improving the health and wellbeing of local residents, reducing inequalities across priority demographics.
- To be responsible and accountable for implementing the Healthy Communities Plan (and associated KPIs) for Bexley in line with national and local strategic priorities within the Bexley Health and Wellbeing Strategy, London Borough of Bexley Council: Corporate Plan and London Sport Strategy: LDN Moving strategy - building a strong, integrated service which identifies and meets the needs of the local community.
- Working with the Steps to Health team on site, improve the health and wellbeing of local residents by identifying opportunities to add value to and provide exit routes from the Steps to Health service.
- Increase local physical activity levels, driving footfall into the leisure centres and maintaining a focus on the contract's member retention plan, maximising opportunities for the community to access leisure facilities through new activity programmes, health initiatives and community programming across all facilities.
- Have a strong knowledge of social media and other basic marketing platforms to increase the company's visibility within the local community.
- Support the Contract Manager and Healthy Communities Team to provide reports as and when and secure appropriate funding.
- Based out of Crook Log Leisure Centre but able and willing to travel Borough, Region and Group as and when required.
The Person
- It is essential that you have excellent communication skills and commitment to customer service.
- The successful candidate should have extensive knowledge of the leisure industry.
- Be able to work flexibly, as and when the role requires (i.e. for events, programmes, training, meetings etc.) outside normal working hours. The post holder will be expected to attend whenever reasonably practicable.
- To achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.
- To undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager which are commensurate with the role, including project work, internal job rotation and absence cover.
- To contribute positively to the effectiveness and efficiency of the teams in which they work.
