About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting. You’ll ensure high standards of care and education, lead by example, and help drive forward a positive, inclusive and nurturing environment for children aged 0–5 years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager in all operational aspects of the nursery
  • Lead and inspire the staff team, ensuring EYFS and safeguarding standards are consistently met
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers
  • Take the lead on planning and observations, ensuring individual needs are met
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead in the Manager’s absence
  • Assist with recruitment, staff development, and supervision meetings
  • Contribute to maintaining an Ofsted-ready, high-quality setting

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 or above qualification in Childcare/Early Years
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a senior role (Room Leader/Third in Charge or above)
  • Strong working knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and SEND
  • Confident, organised and able to lead a team
  • Passionate about early childhood development
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections is a plus
