We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Web Designer to join the Online Grocery team! As the Lead Web Designer, you will be part of the fastest-growing business within Asda and one of the industry leaders in online grocery. Reporting to the Digital Campaigns Manager, this role primarily focuses on artworking creative and implementing on-brand promotional graphics for the Grocery website across all relevant devices. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of junior designers within the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Create optimized promotional web graphics for the Grocery website across the responsive site (desktop, mobile & tablet) & apps in accordance with best practice guidelines.
  • Use coding knowledge to publish a high volume of accurate graphics to the site in line with the supplier funding plan.
  • Perform quality checks & proofreading as required.
  • Work with junior web designers to challenge briefs where necessary, drive innovation through testing & analyze creative performance.
  • Manage priorities and tasks with junior web designers.
  • Proactively lead a problem-solving approach.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure at least 99% implementation of supplier-funded media.

Experience

  • Producing web graphics across devices.
  • Proven ability to use Photoshop & Illustrator.
  • Proven ability to hand-code HTML.
  • Some knowledge of CSS and designing fully responsive pages.
  • Experience using a Content Management System (CMS).
  • Some UX knowledge.
  • Ability to produce a high volume of banners.
