If so, there is an exciting Apprenticeship opportunity for you within Skylight, part of Stockport Homes Group (SHG).

The role will sit within The Prevention Alliance (TPA). TPA is made up of five not-for-profit organisations who work together to deliver Stockport Support Hub and Your Support in Stockport. They are Age UK Stockport, Jigsaw Support, Nacro, Stockport Homes Group (SHG) and Talk Listen Change (TLC).

Join our dynamic team as an Apprentice Community Health and Wellbeing Worker, where you will gain practical experience and develop valuable skills, whilst working towards a Community Health and Wellbeing qualification. Successful candidates will be expected to travel to their assigned college, training provider or workplace as required.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Delivering clear, accurate, and supportive information, advice, and guidance to individuals.
  • Empowering individuals to explore and develop their own solutions to challenges.
  • Assisting individuals in recognising their strengths and building self-confidence.
  • Supporting individuals in setting and working towards personal goals that enhance their health and wellbeing.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, partner organisations, and external agencies to provide coordinated support.
  • Recognising and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, following established procedures.
  • Accurately collecting, recording, and maintaining data and information in line with organisational requirements.

  • Strong IT skills and the ability to use communication tools effectively.

  • Strong organisational skills, allowing you to manage your time effectively and meet deadlines reliably.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of four GCSEs or equivalent at Grade 4/C or above, including Maths and English.
  • Please note: For apprentices aged 19 and over at the start of their apprenticeship, English and Maths qualifications are no longer a mandatory requirement in England. However, a basic assessment will still be required to ensure suitability for the course.
  • Applicants must not already hold the same or a higher level of qualification in the same subject area.

We are holding an information evening from 5pm -7.30pm on Wednesday 2nd July 2025 at our Cornerstone Office, 2 Edward Street, Stockport. SK1 3NQ. Assessment Day

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an assessment day to further evaluate their skills and suitability for the apprenticeship on Tuesday 22nd July 2025.

College or Training Provider

All our apprentices are enrolled with colleges or recommended training providers who have been approved by our Learning and Development Team.

Your Training Plan

You will receive both on-the-job and off-the-job training over the course of your Apprenticeship, following a detailed induction and training plan. Upon successful completion, you will achieve a recognised qualification.
