We are looking for an experienced and driven freelance Site Manager to take a leading role in the construction of a state-of-the-art data centre. This is a technically demanding project, requiring excellent planning, coordination, and on-site leadership skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the project safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site activities from groundworks through to handover
- Manage subcontractors, site operatives, and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Monitor progress against programme and report updates to the project team
- Coordinate with M&E teams, consultants, and the client
- Conduct site inspections, manage snagging, and ensure quality control
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, and logistics plans
- Lead daily site briefings and toolbox talks
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience managing data centre, critical infrastructure projects or similar
- SMSTS and CSCS
- First Aid at Work certification
- Strong knowledge of M&E coordination and structural works
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
- Proficient in using MS Project, Excel, and site reporting tools
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management or related discipline
- Experience working on live or highly serviced environments
