We are seeking a Cost Engineer to join our expanding team in London. You will play a key role in supporting our growth by developing and implementing procurement and commercial strategies for various projects, supporting one of our major Construction clients in the region.
In this role you will:
- Coordinate with the Senior Cost Engineer and Head of Estimating to ensure consistency in cost planning and estimation approaches.
- Collaborate closely with team members to produce cost documentation that meets internal and external standards.
- Support the estimating team by providing assurance, mentoring junior staff, and developing pricing strategies.
- Monitor and manage construction budgets during preconstruction, including change management support.
- Assist in cost quantification during planning and estimation activities.
- Gather benchmarking data to support project estimates.
- Manage stakeholder relations to produce accurate estimates.
- Present, negotiate, and justify pricing with transparency to senior management and clients.
About you
Essential skills and experience:
- Proficiency in Excel and similar software.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills.
- Background in infrastructure main contracting, preferably in civil engineering.
- Experience in commercial or operational roles.
Desirable skills and qualifications:
- Experience with Candy Estimating Software.
- Experience with RIB Cost X software.
- Knowledge of AACE estimating principles.
- Flexibility to travel and adapt to different locations.
- Chartered status with recognized industry bodies (e.g., ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB).
