We have a requirement for a Civil Design Engineer with 4+ years experience to join our clients flagship London office. You’ll be working on the civil design aspects of our projects including below ground drainage, SUDS and external works, as well as contribute to the structural design of projects. You’ll be working with a range of materials, forms and building types across diverse sectors and project scales to deliver imaginative solutions.

The role:
- Develop foul and surface water drainage strategies and flood risk assessments on projects at a range of scales and sectors.
- Develop designs for external works, paving, retaining structures, highway works, AIP submissions.
- Coordinate with architect and other engineering consultants as part of the team.
- Able to guide others in civil engineering designs.
- Able to manage fees and resourcing associated with their work.
- Contribute to production of internal technical notes.
- Reviews own and others’ work as part of quality assurance.
- Maintains up to date technical knowledge.
- Uses analytical software effectively and interprets the outputs well.
- Applies theory to practice and in a logical way.
- Highlights potential problems and ensures there is resolution.
What you need to succeed:
- A good degree or equivalent in civil engineering.
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution (ICE or equivalent).
- 4+ years’ proven experience in a civil engineering consultancy.
- Working knowledge of BS/EN standards, building regulations and SUDS.
- Able to work independently.
- Experience of working with existing drainage systems as well as new build designs.
- Knowledge of SUDS.
- Working knowledge of relevant design software.
- An interest in buildings and the built environment.
