Our client is well-established within the Manufacturing sector and is looking for a confident and passionate EDM Subject Matter Expert (SME) who has extensive understanding of EDM principles, including spark erosion, dielectric fluids, and material removal rates.

Job Description:

  • Lead and champion EDM manufacturing processes on site.
  • Recommend appropriate machining strategies for various materials and applications and optimize EDM settings (voltage, pulse duration, frequency) for efficiency and quality.
  • Discuss engineering processes with the manufacturing team and pass feedback the other way too.
  • Practical experience in operating and troubleshooting EDM machines and controls.
  • Knowledge of machine calibration, maintenance, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Familiarity with advanced CNC EDM systems, programming, and automation tools.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of EDM manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Expertise in various EDM types, such as Wire EDM, Sinker EDM, and Hole Drilling EDM.
  • Multi-axis fast hole drilling experience is ideal.
  • Ideally tool design and electrode design/material knowledge.
