Alexander Steele have partnered exclusively with a well-established and growing packaging business based in Glasgow to recruit a Senior Buyer. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the full procurement function and play a key role in driving commercial performance across the business.

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing all packaging procurement activities, leading a small buying team, and ensuring stock levels are well controlled to meet operational needs. This is a key leadership role within the business and offers a great platform for further progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all procurement activities for packaging products across multiple categories.
  • Build, maintain, and develop strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service level agreements to achieve best value.
  • Manage and develop a small team of Buyers and Procurement Assistants.
  • Oversee and improve stock intake and inventory control.
  • Monitor supplier performance, market trends, and pricing activity.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, finance, and logistics to ensure effective supply chain operations.

  • Significant experience in a senior buying or procurement role, ideally within packaging, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and manage contracts effectively.
