My client delivers innovative performance analytics to the UK and international defence sectors. Their bespoke system supports soldiers during live training, collecting data that enhances individual and team shooting performance. They are now growing and looking for a Field Service Engineer who thrives in demanding environments and is comfortable bridging the gap between people and technology.

The ideal candidate would be someone who has a good understanding of communications systems and has the ability to carry out 1st and 2nd line repairs in the field, as well as being able to communicate with individuals at all levels from Pte’s through to Senior Officers when instructing them on the use of the equipment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting military training exercises by deploying and maintaining company equipment in the UK and abroad
  • Installing, configuring, and testing hardware/software systems in real-world environments
  • Troubleshooting networks, systems and hardware on the ground—often with minimal support
  • Delivering system briefings and basic training to soldiers and end-users in a clear, confident manner
  • Acting as the link between engineering, operations, and front-line users
  • Supporting wider operational needs, including network infrastructure, physical security systems, and kit maintenance
  • Helping shape future tech by feeding back real-time user experience to the development team

What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong IT/networking knowledge (IP, DHCP, VPNs, remote access, MDM tools)
  • Confident diagnosing and fixing comms/networking issues in the field
  • A methodical and proactive mindset with attention to detail
  • Good communicator – able to engage with soldiers, engineers, and senior stakeholders alike
  • Field-ready – comfortable working in austere or high-pressure environments
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Eligible for UK security clearance, SC Clearance

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience in the military or working with defence sector clients
  • Familiarity with systems like A-TAK, deployable networks (e.g. Unifi), JSON, Python, SQL
  • Experience delivering training
  • International deployment experience
