Full time, hybrid – remote and the LATA office in South Kensington. £35,000-£45,000 per annum.

The Latin American Travel Association (LATA), formed in 1993, is the trade body for the UK to Latin America tourism industry, and exists to responsibly promote Latin America as a leading tourist destination. LATA Members represent an ever-growing travel community with unrivalled passion and knowledge for Latin America. The association is comprised of over 400 companies including tourism boards, airlines, hotels, tour operators, representation companies and the travel press.

LATA is now looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager to help us expand our membership and other revenue opportunities. You will be the front of the organisation and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales and revenue strategy, in line with LATA’s values, vision and mission statement. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting revenues and forging strong relationships with LATA members and other travel industry organisations.

Key responsibilities revolve around developing and delivering a strategy for:

  • Membership acquisition
  • Membership retention/relationship management
  • Event sponsorship
  • LATA Expo
  • Research and develop new revenue streams

Must have:

  • Proven track record of sales and relationship management, but not necessarily from a pure sales background
  • Ability to understand a client’s objectives
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent project management/delivery ability
  • Proficiency in English
  • Organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to attend some out-of-hours events
  • Willingness to travel to London office and other UK destinations and events as needed
  • Must be able to work as a member of a small team and pitch in to any task when required!

Nice to have:

  • Travel industry experience
  • Knowledge of Latin America
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese
