We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with Charity SORP experience.
Our client is a highly esteemed educational institution in the heart of Oxford. Renowned for their commitment to academic excellence and an inclusive approach to learning, they have a long-standing reputation within the not-for-profit sector.
This position is based with a Charity/College in Oxford. Initially, the role requires you to be in the office 5 days per week for the first couple of weeks, then it is 2 days from home and 3 in the office. There is no parking, so you will need to be able to get into central Oxford by public transport.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Quarterly VAT Returns and the annual Partial Exemption adjustment
- Prepare and post endowment gains/losses and movement journals on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Prepare and post nominal ledger journals, including depreciation and ad-hoc adjustments
- Review creditors, debtors, and balance sheet items, making adjustments as necessary
- Support month-end routines, including analysis of variances and commentary against budget
- Post pension scheme and subsidiary journals
- Assist with statutory year-end accounts and respond to audit queries
- Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports for budget holders and senior managers
- Help prepare cashflow forecasts
Profile
It is ESSENTIAL that you meet the following requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
- Experience with Charity SORP
- Live local/commutable to Oxford as initially the role is 5 days in the office
- Confident working with journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting independently
- Confident with monthly management account preparation and preparation of financial statements
