A highly respected multi-disciplinary consultancy is continuing its growth and success in Birmingham and is now looking to appoint a passionate and driven Senior / Chartered Building Surveyor to join its expanding Building Surveying team. This role comes with a clear path to progression - with the opportunity to step into a Senior Surveyor position and beyond.
The Opportunity:
- Based in Birmingham, the successful candidate will join an experienced team of Building Surveyors focused on key national client accounts.
- This team delivers high-quality technical support across varied commercial, retail, and educational portfolios.
- As the team grows, this role offers the chance to step into a leadership capacity - supporting junior colleagues, managing workloads, and playing a part in shaping the team's continued development.
How you'll drive success:
- Lead and develop detailed briefs alongside clients and senior colleagues
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Support business development activities with senior colleagues
- Produce designs, specifications, and tender documentation
- Administer JCT building contracts
- Undertake the full scope of professional surveying duties: (Condition surveys, defect analysis, party wall, dilapidations, feasibilities)
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and consultants
- Assist the team leader with mentoring staff and managing project finances
The essentials:
- MRICS Chartered (desirable)
- Background in advising on commercial, retail, or education sector projects
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Competency in AutoCAD / Revit is beneficial (training available)
- Familiarity with NBS Chorus
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel across the UK
- Excellent communication skills and strong commercial awareness
