I'm currently working with a well-regarded consultancy who are looking to bring a Civil Engineer with a focus on flood risk and infrastructure into their growing team based in Cheltenham. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on a range of infrastructure and water environment projects. The work is varied and rewarding, involving everything from technical design and drainage strategy to stakeholder engagement and mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing drainage strategies and engineering reports for planning submissions
  • Preparing technical drawings including S104, S278, and S38 layouts
  • Designing preliminary highways, external works, ground modelling and more
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, and wider project teams
  • Supporting junior engineers with technical guidance
  • Conducting occasional site visits to support project delivery
  • Working collaboratively on multi-disciplinary projects with internal teams

This is a predominantly office-based position with occasional site work, offering plenty of scope to work closely with experienced professionals in related disciplines. The ideal candidate will have a strong grounding in civil engineering, particularly in flood risk and drainage design. You will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a team-based environment with multiple stakeholders.
