A CAD / CAM Engineer - Sheet Metal is required for a well-established manufacturer of sheet metal products based in the Thetford, Norfolk area, supplying a range of industries. The successful candidate would join a small team of Engineers and take responsibility for CAM programming, design and nesting. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical/Sheet Metal Design Engineer to take the next step in their career and join a well-established and growing manufacturer.
Position Overview
- Joining the design team and programming team to assist with nesting, CAM programming and streamlining processes.
- Liaising closely with the production team to ensure programs are uploaded to machines correctly.
- Preparing drawings/programmes for manufacture.
- Liaising with external manufacturing suppliers.
- Adhering to the company quality standards and health and safety policy.
Position Requirements
- Experience in sheet metal/CAM engineering role or similar.
- Proficient with 3D CAD Software such as Inventor, Solidworks, Creo.
- Solidworks and/or RADAN or TruTops is advantageous.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing is desirable.
- Experience with Trumph machinery is a distinct advantage.
- Experience working with the Sheet Metal Fabrication industry.
- Based in a commutable distance of Thetford.
- Strong communication skills.
- Full UK Driving License.
Position Remuneration
- Salary £24,000 - £35,000 (Dependent upon experience).
- Monday to Friday, full-time, permanent position.
- Holiday allowance and pension.
