Salary: £29,744 per annum

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Shifts Available:

  • Operative 1: Sunday – Thursday, 07:00 – 17:00 (45 contracted hours/week, 1-hour unpaid break per day)
  • Operative 2: Tuesday – Friday, 09:00 – 19:00 & Saturday 07:00 – 17:00 (45 contracted hours/week, 1-hour unpaid break per day)

About the Role

Our client, a leading name in high-risk chilled food production, is currently seeking two diligent Quality Control Operatives to join their growing technical team. These positions are critical in maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards within a busy, fast-paced production environment.

The successful candidates will work closely with the Quality Manager and take a hands-on role in overseeing product quality, documentation, and ensuring compliance with strict industry standards. These roles require individuals who are proactive, detail-focused, and comfortable working in chilled conditions.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with prior food industry experience who are looking to progress their career within quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct continuous online quality checks to prevent substandard products from reaching dispatch.
  • Monitor and change labels and label reels as required.
  • Carry out weight checks, residual oxygen checks, and metal detection processes, completing all necessary records.
  • Complete all due diligence and production paperwork accurately and in real-time.
  • Monitor temperature control and environmental conditions manually.
  • Provide support across different lines during staff breaks to ensure uninterrupted quality checks.
  • Raise and help resolve GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) issues promptly.
  • Ensure full coverage of critical production runs and uphold compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Verify cooking temperatures and confirm proper cooling procedures.

Desirable Experience & Knowledge

  • Experience in a high-risk chilled food production setting.
  • Familiarity with BRCGS standards and audit procedures.
  • Prior Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience is highly advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of GMP and GHP (Good Hygiene Practices).
  • Ability to drive positive change within a production setting.
