Opportunity: A major international multidisciplinary firm has recently decided to expand and bring in a new Principal level Environmental Consultant to support the development and growth of new projects across a multitude of sectors. As the new Principal Environmental Consultant, you ll be providing support for infrastructure works spanning many sectors including energy, transport (rail and highways), water and building works all around the UK. On top of that, plenty of exciting chances to work on projects overseas should you wish to expand your personal portfolio. If you re a highly experienced Senior / Principal level Environmental Consultant looking to break into the next stage of their career, this would be the move to make. Joining a 150 strong team of qualified professionals, with offices in London and the Southwest, you ll have to access to necessary resources and technical specialists to complete your assignments all while developing your abilities and the abilities of the junior members of your team. Responsibility: Being a Principal Environmental Consultant, your duties will consist of project delivery and mentoring members of your team. You will take the lead on bringing the umbrella of Environmental Evaluation together to effectively coordinate and deliver on designated projects. This means supervising and combining a multidisciplinary team handling tasks including EIAs, Appraisals and Management Strategies. You ll need to be able to manage time effectively as you will be carrying out your own work and reviewing the work of others to ensure all of it is to a high standard. Furthermore, you ll be managing the needs of clients and stakeholders, acting as a point of contact and providing professional advice when required. Bid preparations and business development will be another crucial aspect of the role, helping to secure new work for the team whilst developing new and existing relationships with clients. Requirements: To be a successful applicant for this role, there is a range of criteria that will need to be met. To be considered you will need to be chartered with a relevant professional body, have ideally around 5 years experience and possess a comprehensive knowledge of EIA processes. You will need to have experience leading a team, producing technical reports and demonstrate an ability to work effectively do deadlines whilst maintaining an acceptable standard of work.
