Overview: As an On-Call Counsellor, you will play a key role in providing a safe, enriching, and memorable experience for students in an elite summer programme. Your responsibilities include ensuring student safety through daily engagement and organising events and activities under the guidance of Junior Deans and programme leadership.
We are seeking flexible On-Call Counsellors to cover for our regular staff at short notice. You must be ready to step in at the last minute and work at any of our three sites.
Key Responsibilities:- Student Safety: Ensure student safety during activities and routines, addressing any concerns promptly. Act as the first point of contact for student issues.
- Representing Oxford Royale: Uphold Oxford Royaleβs values and professionalism, building positive relationships with students and staff.
- Student Experience: Engage with students daily, help plan and execute activities and excursions, and support academic programs, debates, and public speaking.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with other Counsellors, Junior Deans, and leadership, setting high standards of safety and behaviour.
- Administration and Compliance: Follow health and safety guidelines, maintain student registers, and report incidents.
- Team player, fully engaged in Oxford Royale's activities.
- Fluent in English, with strong initiative, organizational skills, and the ability to build relationships with diverse individuals.
- Experience working with young people.
- Good situational awareness.
- A-Levels or equivalent, and at least one year of higher education.
- Experience working with relevant age groups, leading teams, and managing under pressure.
- Flexible and proactive.
- Location: In-person teaching at either Oxford, London or Cambridge.
- Duration: Contracts range from one day to up to 8 weeks.
- Schedule: Variable hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Salary: Β£12.21ph.
