1. Lead synthetic research projects; design new synthetic routes, improve existing routes, conduct syntheses, troubleshoot and optimize problem steps, participate in technical customer calls primarily around Custom Synthesis.
2. Provide technical support to the Chemistry Team to ensure successful scale-up and optimization of existing procedures as required.
3. Provide technical support during the manufacture of contract products and catalogue products as required.
4. Prepare technical evaluations of custom synthesis requests.
5. Support costing of Custom Synthesis for use by the Commercial Team to prepare quotations.
6. Support the development of new products within the company.
7. Review, optimize, and define manufacturing instructions for impure/low-yielding processes.
8. Contribute to the preparation of catalogue reagents, often within tight deadlines.
9. Mentor less experienced chemists.
10. Act as SME on project teams regarding synthetic organic chemistry, NAC products, oligo synthesis using these products, and analysis thereof.
11. Proven track record working as part of a cross-functional team.
12. Demonstrated experience with development and implementation of new technologies and processes to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity.
13. Effective communication skills with technical staff, peers, and management.
14. Ability to work in a complex and rapidly growing company.
15. Results-oriented, ensuring targets are met on time.
16. Demonstrate good professional judgment and reliability.
