Freixenet Copestick are a major player in the UK’s drinks market and we’re proud to be the UK’s leading supplier of Sparkling Wines! With an extensive portfolio across Still Wine, Sparkling Wine, Beer and Spirits, this is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the next phase of growth.
As Category Manager, you will champion our still wine category, sitting between the sales and marketing team to inform strategies for growth. Handling large data sets, you’ll deliver insights and clear recommendations acting as the go-to expert for both internal and external stakeholders.
Based in our Newbury office three days a week, this hybrid role offers a salary of up to £45,000. Not to mention a generous benefits package including private health cover and bonus scheme.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong partnerships with retailers, providing category insights and fulfilling ad hoc analysis requests.
- Develop and champion the category vision, identifying trends and opportunities to drive growth.
- Lead internal and external presentations, such as retailer brand planning days and category reviews.
- Drive category rationale for securing product listings and distribution expansion.
- Stay ahead of market trends, conducting competitor analysis and store visits to ensure strategic alignment.
- Collaborate with agency partners to explore and achieve mutual growth opportunities.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in category management, at Executive or Manager level.
- Strong data analysis skills, ideally within an FMCG environment.
- Proven ability to use insights to achieve commercial success.
- Proficiency in market data tools such as Circana, Kantar, and Dunnhumby.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
- A commercially astute and organised individual with a collaborative working style.
- Genuine interest in the wine or grocery sector is a plus.
